Hello and welcome to Justice For Sonya. A little about me… I am commonly referred to as Mercy. I am an advocate for Human/Civil Rights and Equality. I am a Christian but do not believe in organized religion. I am a wife. I am a mom. I am a good citizen. I have a very big heart. I have compassion and empathy. I have suffered from Depression and PTSD from severe trauma during my own childhood. I believe that just because you forgive doesn’t mean you have to forget. I know what it’s like to be treated differently based upon my ethnicity and gender. I know I am not perfect, but I am human. When I make mistakes I own them. I pray. I love to laugh. And sometimes I cry to cleanse my soul. I try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. When I notice a quality or trait in someone that I don’t like, I remind myself to look inside at what is really bothering me about them… and usually I find the answer within myself. I am not a complacent person, I am ever-evolving inside as I travel on my own journey through life. My goal in life has always been to be a better person in every aspect of my life. I am a forward thinker and an optimist but I am also a realist. The most important people in my life are my family and my friends, because without them, I would not be where I am today.

I formed this blog for many reasons including but not limited to: removing the stigma associated with being Transgender or Transsexual as well as removing the stigma for someone who has been admitted into a Mental Health Institution by providing education and resources; to blow the whistle on any Mental Health Institution who violates patients rights and does not follow regulations as required. And to exercise my right to Freedom of Speech.
